Hello!
I am so happy that you are here!
I am gearing up for a fantastic New Year!
I love the feeling of change, I am all about change!
My website is undergoing a brand new makeover!
I am happy to say that I am already 90% booked for 2013 wedding season!
I am also already booking Family sessions for Fall 2013!!!
I am really looking forward to meeting new faces, and of course I am always delighted to see familiar ones too! You have allowed me to be a part of such special moments, and I thank you for that!
As an artist, I take great pride in staying true to my style, and not allowing trends to really play that much of a role in my life both personal & professional. I believe in honest photographs with real memories. I am not about "the shot" I am about the person who is in front of my lens.
A picture is proof of life, it is a story, it has a past and a present, and a future. If you look deep into a persons eyes, you will see just that! Life! And it's beautiful!
I don't complicate or manipulate a photo. I keep it simple. You, me and where you are in life at the exact precise moment I capture that picture.
Bring on the smiles!
~Candice.

Summer session fun!
With Summer, just around the corner...this is a wonderful time to get outside and enjoy a Family photo session like no other!
My sessions take place on location, and are laid back and very "non studio"! And that's a good thing!
Your photographs should reflect your family connections, laughter and love!
I am available for travel, however if a country setting is what you are after, then I am the photographer for you! I live, breathe and work in the country and know of some really special country locations for your family photo session!
Please visit my website and contact me to book your session today!

{The Beauty Within} fundraising event in support of Cancer Care Manitoba Foundation- April 29, 2012
I am thrilled to be hosting the second annual fundraising event {The Beauty Within}!
It was an idea I came up with for a chance for women of all ages to do something truly wonderful and support a very worthy cause! The focus on this event is for women to pose for one portrait wearing no makeup, to promote inner beauty! The portraits are all in black & white, and if you have a chance to visit my website gallery, you can view just some of last years event pictures. This event is registered through Cancer Care Manitoba and there is no need to register, just drop by the day of the event, fill out a pledge form and make your donation & pose for a picture! 100% of all money raised goes directly to Cancer Care Manitoba.
We have all been touched one way or another by this disease, and I truly believe we can make a difference!
This years event is being held at Pine Ridge Hollow on April 29, 2012. The start time for this event is 10:00am and runs until 1:00pm. Everyone will receive their portrait via email, after the event.
I will also have this years gallery of images, displayed on my website for all to see!
We will be having a silent auction draw for a huge gift basket, and there will also be goodies for everyone!
This event is also on the Cancer Care Manitoba Foundation calendar of events, and I ask that you share this with Family & friends! This event is also on facebook, so please check it out!
I hope to see you there!

{Boudoir Blitz} Jan. 15, 2012
I am so very excited about the {Boudoir Blitz} happening on Jan. 15, 2012!
Basically what it is, is a day focused just on boudoir style photography!
I am selecting a hotel location, and included with your pkg. is professional makeup artist & stylist on location for your session! All you have to do is get yourself a cute little outfit, and leave the rest to us!
After many sessions this past year, I realize this is a style of photography that I really love!
I have always had a love with fine art, and that seems to be the approach I take with boudoir. I love taking the images from a fashion point of view, and blending it with personality and transforming it into a piece of Art!
I LOVE when a woman can feel great about herself, and I don't think there is anything wrong with wanting to feel & look beautiful!
I chose January, because with Valentines right around the corner, this would make an ideal gift for you and your special someone!
If you are interested in booking one of the last remaining spots, please contact me today! Once your session is booked, you will receive a info. form and detail pkg. via email in Dec.

{Palm Paradise} wedding style inspiration session~
This tropical paradise session was a creative collaboration from Rimpal Kaler, Erin Patton, and myself.
We wanted to create a Moroccan styled wedding, yet keep it quite simple and not too over the top. This style session had several key elements to make it a very sophisticated, yet very laid back! I felt we were on a Island somewhere through the entire session, it was just great!
The palm leaf design could be found here and there. The cake had a Palm design ( courtesy of cake-ology), and the favours were tins filled with tea, wrapped in palm leaves with a simple string ( courtesy of The Ruby Carousel). The table was set with pretty glass vases, candles, and palm branches for a romantic & earthy look.
The bouquets were beautiful ,and again just a simple splash of the palm leaves ( courtesy of Purple Peony).
The models makeup was the creation of Makeup Expressions by Rimpal. The hair styles, were beautifully created by Hair by Karen.
The jewelry was from Stella & Dot ( Erin Patton Independent Stylist for Stella & Dot).
Thanks to Vaan Statts Classic Car Rental Service for the amazing car used in this session.
I would also like to thank Cassiopeia's Bridal Boutique for the beautiful bride gown, and brides maid dress.
Thanks to Sweetness Buffet & Stationery for the table cards, and menus.
This session was our way of showing future brides, that no matter how big, or small your event is, you can still have an elegant wedding without breaking the bank.
I really enjoyed the whole Moroccan theme, as it allowed us to play with colour, textures, and have a fantastic eclectic style~
Thankyou to everyone who was invovled with this session!
If you are planning your 2012 wedding, please feel free to book a consutation with me.
I can also provide you with my wedding vendor list, so that you can have the wedding of your dreams!
Happy planning!

A sunny afternoon in the park to celebrate friendship!
The most thoughtful Birthday present ever!
I had the privilege of being asked to photograph two friends, just simply spending some time together to celebrate their friendship!
This present was a well planned out event by {Trisha}, who had emailed me not long ago and asked if I could do this session for her, and of course I jumped at the chance! Trisha had explained to me that her friend Breanne, had a Birthday coming up, and this is what she wanted to give her! I can honestly say that I have never even heard or thought of this style of session before, and I am so grateful I was asked!
The entire session was a surprise to Breanne, right up until we met at the park gates, and then she was told that this was a Birthday present from Trisha!
She was so excited, and Trisha was too!
I wanted to simply focus on the fact that these two friends have something pretty rare...
the kind of friendship we all want! No matter the distance, the two of them have never made that a reason not to spend quality time together!
I love when pictures tell the story, and words are not required, and somehow you can feel the connection through the photograph!
In a world where we all live such busy lives, it`s nice to see people still getting together to share some good times!
I enjoyed every minute of this session, I was laughing right along side them...besides me almost walking into a sleeping bear, it was a blast!
Happy Birthday Breanne! You guys have a pretty wonderful friendship!

{Summer Sweets} Wedding Inspiration Style Session
This wonderful inspiration style session was a dream for me!
Not only did it reflect a style that I personally love, but it also involved some of my most favorite people in the wedding industry!
The location was at the ever so quaint and beautiful Maple Grove Tea Room, in St. Andrews along the Red River. The Tea house itself is a work of art, from the beautiful stone, small paths leading to several gardens, to the charming patio overlooking it all!
The style of this session was to create a romantic table for two, with a vintage shabby chic flair! I think we did that, and then some...
The color scheme was based upon summer fruits, peach corals, lemon yellows, punches of orange and then for some fun we added teal to pull it all together! And I think it worked!
I wanted to inspire upcoming bride-to-Be's, that you don't have to settle for a boring banquet room for your special day. I think more and more people are finding it refreshing to be a guest at a wedding that is so out of the ordinary!
A simple setting, stocked full of charming special touches, can be even more elegant then any ballroom!
The decor and design was a work of myself and Tricia from Best Wedding Decor. As a collector of almost anything vintage, I of course had to incorporate wooden crates, mason jars, silver tray and vintage lace. Tricia took care of the rest! From her eye catching displays of tall glass vases filled to the rim with water and fresh cut lemons and a fruit tray centerpiece which was a true delight! The elegant chairs were crisp and clean, and the aroma of wild daisies and some sparkle touches, from the tall table pillar seemed to finish the look! The bouquet was fresh and pretty with pinks and yellows and little hints of green ,courtesy of Tricia. This look was simple, yet very stunning and could easily be replicated, and would not break the bank!
I feel that "shabby chic" is the way to go for wedding decor. I think slowly we will realize that weddings can get a bit boring if they all look the same, so don't be afraid to add your personal touch to the design scheme for your reception! After all it is your day!
The cake was a complete work of art, thanks to Pamela Kirkpatrick of Cake-ology! They were given the ideas, and when I first laid eye's on this masterpiece, I was speechless!
Your wedding cake should be amazing!
The gorgeous model (Alyssa) was perfect for this style session, representing today's woman.
All makeup, hair and birdcage veils were courtesy of Makeup Expressions by Rimpal.
I am a fan of Rimpals work, because she has this way of taking a woman's best features and bringing them right out for the world to see! Rimpal makeup application is always perfection at it's best! I do recommend that for all woman when it comes to your wedding day, leave the makeup to a professional! It will show in your photographs! Rimpal is a photographers dream, she is very professional yet has a laid back approach that enables her clients to feel relaxed and enjoy the experience!
The very pretty jewellery was courtesy of (Erin- Independent stylist for Stella & Dot).
Erin coordinated the jewelry beautifully to fit into our style. From the stunning golds and pearls, to the bangles, and the beaded jewelry it was all center of attention. I think today's bride along with her wedding party should go totally stylish for the wedding jewels! I also love the idea of having Erin host a Stella & dot trunk show before the wedding, so that you and your girlfriends can get together and look through everything and even try it on before the big day! A really good excuse to get some extra girl time!
My approach for the entire shoot was to capture the element beauty we all feel when we look at the bride! The extra sparkle in the brides eye that seems to shine brighter!
Anyone can take good wedding pictures, but a photographers job is to capture the big moments, but also the little details of your day! I wanted to bring the photos to life, so they can be glanced upon and take you right back to that moment in time.
I want to give special thanks to everyone involved in this ever so elegant inspiration session!
I am in the process of planning a Fall inspiration session, for all those planning their Fall weddings in 2012.
Happy Planning!

{rocks & rain} photo session
The inspiration behind this session was a more edgy look, then I have ever done before.
My focus on this session was all about the eyes! I wanted to really magnify how mysterious a persons eyes can actually be.
This was a really fun session for a person, who has modelled for me since day one, but is now moving out of province. It is not goodbye, just see you down the road kind of thing...
Special thanks to Rimpal Kaler from Makeup Expressions, for her ability to create the exact look I had in visioned for this session! As a photographer, I really have a great appreciation for makeup artists!
They can honestly make or break your pictures, or leave you with a ton of editing!
Thankfully I have worked with Rimpal many times, and I have no worries when she is involved!
I want to say thanks to Lyndy, the model for doing this session, and I know it wont be the last!
It's funny how you can plan and hope for great weather, but somehow the bad just makes it all better.
The rocks were tough enough to walk on down that steep hill, let alone for Lyndy who was wearing heels, and then add the slippery rain drops!
The gallery for {rocks & rain} is now on my website.
stay tuned for upcoming wedding inspired session on July 7, {summer sweets}!

{SMILEY SUNDAY} AT THE PARK!
I wanted to think of a fun way for families to get out, and visit one of the most beautiful parks in the city!
I wanted to be able to offer my clients "mini" photo sessions at a fun location that all children love!
The idea behind 30 min. session's is that it is a perfect amount of time, to capture some real candid moments, while your children are hard at play! As a Mom, I understand how important it is to have candid portraits of our children! I often tell people, the candid ones will always end up as your favorites!
The reason I feel capturing a child at play, is far more important then forcing them to sit and stare at the camera is...you get to see their personality shine!
It is about them, and catching them doing what they do best...being a kid!
This style of session takes the pressure off the Parents! It's OK, just let them play!
I will play along side them! You will leave with fun memories, and a collection of true works of art!
I also recommend letting the kids pick out their outfits that day, after all this is about them!
My most favorite thing to do is let my own children dress themselves!
Let her wear stripes and florals! Let him wear that tie with his favorite hockey t-shirt!!!
The best thing we can do as Parents is allow our children to grow, and let them know we LOVE them, for who they are!

When thinking of your next Family photo session , think COUNTRY!
So it's time to start thinking about a new Family portrait. I am sure there are a hundred other things that you need to do first, however this time it can be fun! I think a Family portrait up on the wall is so important for children! I know of so many quaint, romantic, beautiful, and unique spots for a wonderful setting for your next photo session. I spend countless hours driving everywhere, in seek of a different location for almost all of my sessions. I discuss style & personality with all of my clients, and use that to pin point a location that reflects a bit of them. Even though my focus is on You, I still like to have a great backdrop, with interest and simple pure beauty! I like to catch moments and just simply watch you and your loved ones interact, that way there is no denying a true honest moment! That to me is what a photograph is really all about. You can pose a few for the fun of it, but at the end of the day, the candid pictures will always be your favorites!
Because I love flowers, plants, and fields...I stay on top of whats in bloom in what area, and this really helps when deciding on your location. Colours, textures, lines, you name it, I am on it!
As a natural light photographer, I rely solely on well natural light! I love the integrity of a shot taken under natural light, I like that features on faces seem to come alive, and you notice little details that you might not have noticed before.
I have said in the past I am not a fan of everyone matching clothing, I really don't like "OK lets all where white t-shirts". I would rather everyone sort of blend, and wear clothing that compliments each other.
ex. greys, browns, tans, and if you want to add a punch of colour, like red, well then just add it in here and there. Dad wears a red tie, Mom wears red shoes, Sister wears a red bow, and Brother wears red hat?
That's just an idea of what I think would make for a fun quirky photo!
I am excited for Summer sessions, to provide you with images to cherish! So fill up the walls in your home with pictures of you and your Family, celebrate Life! There is nothing more pleasant and comforting then walking into a persons home, and you are immediately surrounded by photos on the wall!
No candle or toss cushion or welcome sign tops that!
I am booking now for Family sessions June-Sept 2011.
Reserve your session today to ensure your date!

The 411 on Pinup Photography...
The 411 on a true "Pinup" session!
I have studied the style for quite a while now, and I guess you could say that this era really appeals to me. I love the fashion, the hair, and the makeup from this style!
Pinup is not for everyone, as attitude makes up about 90% of the shot. A good photographer can make you feel comfortable in front of the lens, but for this particular style, it is really up to you! You have to be confident inside and out, to pull this style off!
Pinup photography really became popular in the 40's, and inspired many woman to show off their attitude, and be a bit on the playful side. I believe all woman have a certain spark, that makes them pretty. Maybe you have great lips, or your eyes twinkle, you have killer legs, or your smile goes for miles...whatever the case may be, Beauty is in all of us!
I can almost gurantee you will walk away from this session feeling wonderful about yourself!
I can almost gurantee you will walk away from this session feeling wonderful about yourself!
Pinup photography is in no way trashy.
It is actually quite glamorous!
It is actually quite glamorous!
I love when ordinary woman break out of their shell for two hours or so, and are left with stunning photographs of themselves!
"Is that really me?" "Do I really look that great?"
"Yes you do!"
We are all wrapped up with busy lives, whether your a busy Mom, or a career woman. This will give you what a Spa day can do, and then some!
I have an awesome makeup artist on board for all of my Pinup sessions. If you require a hair stylist, we can do that too!
All you need for you Pinup session is a few cute outfits that you are comfortable in, and a positive attitude!
The session will be fun, as I always bring a sense of humour to my photography!
I am excited to offer a unique and rare location for summer Pinup sessions. I am currently working on a vintage outdoor bedroom, at my home and I am busy collecting props to create a perfect romantic set.
If you are still unsure of trying this out, please feel free to call me and we can discuss further.
It's ok to feel pretty, it's ok to be a little flirty, we are woman, that just comes with the territory.
The 1# reason why you should do a pinup session...
To celebrate you!

"The Beauty Within"
The event was a wonderful experience for me and hopefully for all that took part!
I came up with this idea and immediately contacted Cancer Care and then made it an official event! I have so many people to thank, I don't even know where to begin. I would like to thank Saint Boniface Cathedral, for giving us permission to use their beautiful Cathedral! I would also like to thank my Niece's Hayley, Hannah, and Holly for all of their help. Thank you to Nicole & Skyla for also giving me a hand registering the participants and helping make this event so much fun!
The day was a cool rainy one, but that didn't stop us one bit! I knew I wanted the pictures to be all taken outdoors, and I managed to find a spot with a bit of an overhang, so that we could stay dry. I then encouraged everyone to make a run for the center of the Cathedral, for some extra amazing pictures!
The chair that we used was decorated by Tricia from Best Wedding Decor, and I loved the pink ribbon!
For each session, I wanted to focus on each person and their style, and try to bring that out in the photographs. I feel I captured the essence of each participant through the images, and I am so happy with the end results! I realize in this day and age, a woman wearing no makeup for pictures is a really big deal! Some of us wont even venture into the grocery store without a bit of makeup and lip gloss, let alone pose for portraits. The thing I loved most is that everyone was so proud to model for the pictures, they put aside their own fears of "the no makeup thing" and thought about someone else.
I LOVE THAT!
We all did this together! We did a really great thing! We should be so proud of ourselves!
This event would not have been possible without your help!
While we were busy doing the sessions, we caught word that CTV was looking for us to do a live broadcast from our event, unfortunately with the rain and not getting to my phone in time, this did not happen. The fact that we sort of caused a buzz, is a really good thing!
As a photographer, I get to look deep into peoples eyes, and bring to light that special quality that makes them who they are. I looked into many eyes that day, and I saw pure goodness and beauty!
I am going to make this an annual event, maybe just change locations a bit, add some new elements, but keep the no makeup as the focus for sure! I want to make it even bigger next year, and I will start advertising this in the fall of 2011. I am sure it will be a sold out event!
I wanted to raise awareness and donations to present to Cancer Care Manitoba, and together we raised $735.00! If I filled those last 5 sessions that I wanted to, we would have reached our goal for $1000.00 ! Next year we will raise even more!
Pose for a portrait with no makeup on? Why yes, just look at the beautiful woman who did just that!
Until next year.....
Yours truly,
Candice

A Vintage Inspired Session...
I had one of my most favorite photo sessions of all time last Sunday night!
The vision of a country setting, hints of vintage style, and a beautiful young woman to model for me.
I wanted a special touch with makeup, so I contacted my friend Rimpal from Makeup Expressions, to assist in creating the exact look I was going for. I love that Rimpal, knows exactly how to bring out all of your special beautiful features, never "painting" over you. Even though I wanted pro makeup for this session, I still wanted the look to be fresh and simple.
When I was planning this session out in my mind, I knew right away who i wanted to ask to model for me.
I wanted the right look, and it would have to be a woman who is confident with her own style. I am not a huge fan of "trendy" anything, I just love personal style that reflects you!
Erin was wonderful, she is one of those girls who could leave the house with no makeup on, and still look great! We started the session around 6:30pm and went until we were running out of sunlight.
I LOVE late day sessions, just before sunset, there is a special glow in the sky when everything is about to rest.
The session was relaxed and fun, and I loved every minute of it! I highly recommend that every woman should try a style photo session, just to remind them how beautiful they are!
Words to describe this session?
Fun, vintage, country, sweet, charming, pretty, and pure...
Thank you to Erin & Rimpal for helping me bring my country vintage shoot to life!

Newborn session with baby Kain.
I had the privilege of doing some newborn photos last Sunday, for an adorable baby boy named Kain.
I always look forward to newborn photo sessions! I love that I get to admire their little toes, and just look at this wonderful new life, it is a beautiful thing!
I always try to incorporate new ideas with my sessions, and stay true to my own style of photography.
I like to bring out the style of the parents, and let that flow right into the session.
Being said that these new Parents were so awesome! I immediately felt relaxed as they welcomed me into their home. I felt the session went so smooth, because the energy in their home was so calm and relaxed.
I felt this couple was not your average set of parents, they were much "cooler" than that! I almost got a true sense of a rock edge, and I LOVED THAT!
I wanted the pictures to be a reflection of them as a family, adding the flare of their own style.
I have to say that baby Kain has the best hair, I have ever seen on anyone! EVER!
This little baby boy will most likely brake some hearts one day!
This family is so blessed to have one another, truly this is what "good people" look like!
Please visit my website gallery {Kain} to view pictures from this session.

7 days left to register for this event!
"The Beauty Within" is the fundraising event that I have been working on for several months now!
I wanted to do an event to raise money for Cancer Care Manitoba Foundation. Like most, I have known many people in my life, that have battled with this disease. I have lost loved ones, and fortunately have known some who have won their battle!
The focus on this event, is to bring attention to the fact, that beauty is something inside rather than on the surface! I have heard once that real beauty, is the light in our hearts! I think that it one of the best ways, to describe what beauty really is!
I have asked that woman of all ages, come out to participate wearing NO MAKEUP! In today's society, that may seem a bit scary for some. I know that this is asking allot, especially when they are also posing in front of a camera. I want to capture the light in their eyes, the freckles, the laugh lines, the traces of life!
And it is all good!
I am asking that the participants to wear either a black or white top. I will mostly be focusing on their faces, and I want to allow my creativity to guide me on how the portrait will be taken. I will use many angles, different shadows, or allow the sun to cast right upon them! The photographs will be art!
We are all unique and beautiful in our own way...it is time to celebrate that!
I hope to see you at the event! I can't wait!

THE COUNTDOWN FOR "THE BEAUTY WITHIN"- 27 DAYS!
This event is the first, and I hope to make this an annual event! With Mothers day just around the corner, this would make an ideal gift, or book your session together!
Your donation is going to make a difference in someone else's life! The thought of posing for a portrait with no makeup might seem a bit scary, but not near as scary for those battling this disease.
Your donation is appreciated, but realize you are also taking part in something very unique and special!
The images will be artistic, a bit different from a standard session. I want to focus on each person, talking to them to get a sense, of who they are, and what matters to them.
I will be putting together an online album, where you will be able to look at all the participants photographs.
The minimum donation for each session is only $40.00, cheques payable to Cancer Care Manitoba Foundation, mailed to me in trust until the event date. I will be presenting all of the donations the day of the event! If you want to vivit the day of the event, but do not wish to participate in the photo sessions, you can still drop by and make a donation!
The closing date for this event is April 20, 2011! Please do not wait, take part and feel great knowing you have helped a very important cause!
